Flood Insurance

The damage caused by a flood can be catastrophic, and unfortunately, flood damage is not covered by a Homeowner’s Policy. A simple way to define “flood” is any water event that affects at least two acres of normally dry ground or at least two properties. The source of the water may be a waterway, runoff, or groundwater coming through a foundation or drain. By purchasing a Flood Insurance Policy, you can protect your home up to a limit of $250,000 and your Personal Property up to a limit of $100,000. In many cases, a policy must be in effect thirty days before coverage commences.
